It Is Important To Maintain A Healthy Lifestyle After The Lap Band Procedure

finally it’s done by me After a period of month or perhaps years you’ve gathered information, weighed options and finally decided that a lap band is for you. It’s a wonderful feeling to take that first step in changing something in your life from a negative to a positive. That being said, the lap band alone is not going to get you to your goal weight. You must be ready and willing to lead the charge in changing old eating habits and exercise routines in order to assure the success you seek. Here are a couple things to think about when you decide to make the trip from flab to fab.

1. IT’S NOT ABOUT THE FOOD, BUT REALLY IT IS.

Refusing to eat does not get us fat. People gain weight when they eat food that isn’t healthy. Not so much things we should never eat, but eating excessive amounts of things for which we should limit our consumption. Before surgery our main priority is to vow to ourselves that we will make the needed changes in diet and lifestyle to achieve what we’ve set out to do. What? To reduce Fats.

2. Everyone needs to exercise, whether they have a lap band or not.

Most people don’t enjoy exercising, it’s a universal truth. Overweight people tend to not enjoy exercise, but when opting for the lap-band procedure you might as well go the extra mile (pun intended!). Start with something you really enjoy doing,start slowly. The most effective method of exercising to begin with is walking. It’s cheap and user friendly. Walking with good shoes and a positive attitude will provide more benefits than just weight loss. If you are interested in dancing, go ahead and try it. Listen to an upbeat dance tune and freely dance everyday. As you begin to feel stronger and more energy, plus in resistance training to your routine. Just start out doing a little of what you like everyday. Make it part of your routine, and as soon you do it will be missed if you happen to skip a day.

Three. ATTITUDE IS PART OF THE SOLUTION, DON’T FORGET THAT!

In moderation and we know to exercise a little everyday the glue that’s going to hold it all together is called “attitude”,now that we know to eat healthy foods that are good for us. Our attitude, the way we feel about something is a major player in our long-term success. Positive reinforcement is paramount. Practice affirmations and tell yourself each morning that you will keep your promise to yourself to do whatever you can to reach your goal of weight loss. Realize that even though you have a lap band it’s ultimately u and your attitude that goings to help it do it’s job. No one else, only you can do it.

Four. CREATE A SUPPORT SYSTEM.

Lap band or no lap band, friends and family are important. There for us no matter what and in a large part surrounding yourself with positive people will help you reach your goals much quicker. You will enjoy being around fun friendly people. The more you move, the more you lose and just go when friends say to go. Tell your family and friends about your goals and how you plan to reach them and recruit their support. There will be those who try to sabotage you and once you realize who they are shy away from them until you feel strong enough to say no to their unhealthy eating habits.

Everything you’ve done, everything you’re doing, it’s all for you. Not only do you need to strive to transform your eating habits and exercise routines, but you may also need to change your attitudes and friends because you decided to get the lap band to improve your body. Everything needs to work together for your overall good. This is your time, so dedicate time to yourself to ensure your success and maybe one day you can help someone else reach success too.
